Season’s Greetings! My name is Jennifer Spriggel, RN, MS and I have been brought on board here at the Putnam County Extension Office to provide Adult Health Education. We will be launching a free, fun, interactive program called Eating Smart and Being Active in January. This program is 8 weeks and lasts 60-90 minutes each session, primarily targeting SNAP recipient moms and dads and fixed income senior citizens. Besides getting some free stuff, participants will learn how to save money when buying groceries, collect recipes, taste some yummy foods, and start moving! Class size is 12 or fewer or fewer and it can be held at your club, church, or other community building. Interested? Call 304-586-0217 and ask for Jennifer.
West Virginia Health Motivators
Can health and fun go together? Yes, they can!
Health Motivators is the answer! Health Motivators bring success!
Does your group meet at least once a month? Can you spare 15-20 minutes for some current health information and a fun activity? Then this is the program for your group. Health Motivators is a program for friends, colleagues, exercise or church groups, and community clubs of all kinds. Use Health Motivator activities as a regular part of your monthly meetings. You will find members become more physically active, choose healthier refreshments, and are move involved in health-related activities like walking. Results can be amazing – lower blood pressure/blood sugar/cholesterol and weigh loss are some of the possibilities. Just pick someone in your group to be your Health Motivator and give us a call here at the Putnam County WVU Extension Office. Jennifer Spriggel, RN, MS (304) 586-0217 will be happy to set you up with the 2015 packet
